A vacancy for a Data Technician has arisen within the Welltest department in Aberdeen reporting to the Operations Manager - Welltest. The purpose of the job is to operate all equipment related to Data Acquisition and Welltest on location in a professional, competent and safe manner in accordance with the Client’s agreed programme and contractual requirements, both safely and efficiently.
The principal accountabilities of the position are:
Considering the potential for harm to themselves, others or the environment that may be caused by their acts or omissions.
Working in accordance with information and training provided. Working in a safe, responsible and cost effective manner.
Collecting Data accurately and to present it professionally to achieve a high quality report for the client.
Refraining from intentionally misusing or recklessly interfering with anything that has been provided for health, safety and Environmental reasons.
To successfully operate and to have sufficient working knowledge of WT equipment that you are required to use.
Packing and loading out equipment in a correct and efficient manner.
Ensuring equipment is rigged up, pressure tested, function tested and ESD system thoroughly function tested prior to operations commencing.
To perform risk assessments for any equipment or tasks not presently covered in the generic Welltest Risk Assessments.
Compiling end of job report to required standard in a timely and efficient manner.
Attending pre and post test Client meetings when required.
Remaining fully informed on software changes, tool upgrades and recent operational problems.
Assisting in the base, creating reports, packing kits when required.
Being available for work at short notice when required.

The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria:
Applicable Oilfield experience, preferably linked to Welltest and/or Data Acquisition systems
Background in MWD/LWD, Mud-Logging, would also be beneficial
IT / Computer Systems understanding - Job specific training will also be given
Sampling knowledge
Ability to work on your own and with others
Conscientious, good timekeeping and high level of accuracy required
