A vacancy has arisen for an Applications/Design Engineer to work within the Projects and Applications Department within Expro Connectors & Measurements based in Ulverston. The successful candidate will report to the Projects and Applications Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of technical support to internal and external customers, this will involve design work and providing CAD generated drawings and technical documents as required.
The principal accountabilities for this role include:
To define and compile assembly procedures, tooling, installation procedures, maintenance procedures, FAT test procedures, qualification test procedures, test reports, technical data sheets and procurement specifications.
To produce CAD generated connector assembly and harness drawings to comply with Company/Client specifications.
Provide Desk Engineering support at customer premises, in the UK or abroad.
To represent the company in technical meetings at client or supplier premises, exhibitions etc.
To support both internal and external customers with technical enquiries for legacy and current Controls and Instrumentation products.
The successful applicant should have:
Minimum HNC qualification with sound engineering knowledge, preferably mechanical based.
Knowledge of CAD testing.
A sound knowledge of the principles of engineering
The ability to prioritise work load, multi task and work to tight deadlines.
Good communications skills; written and verbal to confidently write reports and communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels.
