Location: Stavanger

A vacancy has arisen within the Engineering department in Stavanger for a Senior Technical Engineer reporting to the Area Manager Norway.

The purpose of the job is to maintain the technical integrity of subsea and welltesting related products for all Norwegian and UK activities. It will provide design support, well operations support, and post job analysis to customers. It is used to develop and maintain personal relationships with the technical customer base, and provide technical support on location as required by the customer or internal service line.

The principal accountabilities of the position are:

  1. To prepare technical specifications and technical drawings of each operation
  2. To assist in the engineering  design / calculations for operational and project requirements
  3. To provide technical knowledge and know-how of equipment providing solutions to client problems
  4. To provide technical support to on-going operations
  5. To provide Applications engineering
  6. To prepare and assist the projects, acting as technical co-ordinator with operations procedures
  7. To be involved in technical input and project management support of new builds or upgrades of equipment
  8. To assist in the up keep of the technical library and equipment documentation for Norway
  9. To provide technical sales and operational support at client meetings
  10. To actively supporting and reviewing of local technical procedures for all surface and subsea equipment
  11. To assist in the compilation and quality checks of well reports issued to the customer
  12. To have an active role in improvements to business processes and quality system

The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria:

  • Preferably with suitable  Engineering qualifications
  • Ideally with 3-5 years experience in an Operational background
  • Good computing skills – use of MS and internal/external engineering software advantageous
  • Good communication skills
  • Good listener and the ability to deal with confidential matters
  • Well organised and able to work as part of a team
