To strengthen the production engineering project delivery team at Tronic, based in Ulverston, a vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical support, to the Production Engineering Department. This is a key role to drive forward the development of automation, data acquisition and measurement systems.
The principal accountabilities are:
To help specify, deliver, set to work and maintain electrical and electronic equipment to support automation, data acquisition and measurement systems.
To configure instrumentation and data acquisition equipment used for equipment testing.
To take on design, development and maintenance of engineering software to support improvement and automation of manufacturing and testing within the business.
To assist with design, development and maintenance of engineering HV test systems within the business.
To advise design engineers engaged in compiling test procedures on measurement accuracy and best practices.
To work closely with IT department to ensure compatibility of data format, integration with wider business systems and best practice for software control.
The essential skills required are:
Good basic engineering skills (experience of electrical/electronic/instrumentation systems)
Good working knowledge of systems, design and development methodologies.
Some knowledge of Industrial measurement and control software systems
Basic CAD skills would be preferred.
Knowledge of testing of manufacturing systems would be preferred
Knowledge of measurement systems would be an advantage.
Ability to prioritise work load, multi-task, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Self motivated, committed and flexible team player.
Good communication both written and verbal and confident to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
