Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Houston

A vacancy has arisen in Houston, TX for a Senior Electrical Engineer within our Engineering Department reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Expro Drilling Chokes Engineering Group provides technical support for our rental service operations and direct international sales projects.

The principal accountabilities of the job are:

Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

The successful applicant should also meet the following criteria:

BSEE or BSET from ABET certified college.
3 - 5 yrs experience in a manufacturing environment designing electro/hydraulics for operations of control valves.
Experience in system design using PLC’s/IS Barriers/I/O Modules, preferable Siemens/Stahl/P&F.
Knowledge of ATEX/NEC Standards.
Knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems, preferably SAP.
Knowledge of CAD/PDM Systems, preferably Solidworks/PDM Works.
Experience programming in IEC-61131-3 (structured text & function block).
Experience with fieldbuss protocols (Foundation, Profibus, etc.).
