A Full time, permanent vacancy has arisen within the Subsea Operations department in Aberdeen for a Engineering Team Leader, reporting to the Subsea Operations Manager.
The purpose of the job is to be responsible for providing engineering support to the regions service departments, to provide operations engineering support to new product development to ensure smooth transition from development phase to initial field trial in the region and to develop the team of engineers.
The principal accountabilities of the position are:
- To work in a safe, responsible and cost effective manner, in full compliance with the company's safety and quality management systems.
- To Design Products which are safe to build and operate, conform to the original specification & meet certifying authority requirements, are reliable, easily maintained & user friendly and cost effective, taking into account material used and manufacturing tech.
- To Work as part of the Subsea team to ensure an integrated approach to all Subsea activities.
- To Produce Subsea project “Well Files” within the Advitium PDM system to document the design process and provide product history and full design accountability.
- Produce, check and sign off detail engineering drawings, assembly drawings, designs and interfaces as & when required to ensure design intent is met and minimum mistakes are generated.
- To liaise with clients as required to establish correct interfaces and present a professional image.
- To work in collaboration with the other engineering design group locations as well as Operations and Business Development teams to provide full technical support and provide operations engineering input during the development stages of new products and product enhancements to satisfy client & project requirements.
- To prepare test procedures, engineering reports, operations manuals and maintenance manuals where required for equipment to ensure build, test and operational activities are safe and meet the design intent.
- To co-ordinate all PIR’s related to equipment performance & manufacture equipment.
- Conduct Annual appraisals for the ops engineering team and support there career development.
The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria:
- The jobholder is expected to make decisions regarding the design & integrity of equipment to a high level, and provide meaningful input to engineering design reviews.
- Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 Years experience in the design of downhole and/or Subsea related oilfield equipment.
- Minimum 5 Years experience in computer aided engineering techniques (2D, 3D Modelling & FEA Packages).
