Location: Aberdeen

A Full time, permanent vacancy has arisen within the Subsea Operations department in Aberdeen for an Operations Supervisor reporting to the Operations Manager.

The purpose of the job is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all operations carried out by Subsea Department, provide a quality service and to manage Subsea equipment & personnel resources to meet client operational requirements safely, efficiently and profitably.

The principal accountabilities of the position are:

  1. To work as part of the Subsea Team to ensure an integrated approach to all Subsea activities To maintain good Expro/Customer relationships at all times.
  2. To ensure all Subsea operations are resourced correctly to customer requirements and Expro standards To manage personnel: Appraise, motivate, train and develop staff to maintain an effective workforce capable of meeting its objectives, without harm to either personnel or the environment.
  3. To provide technical support to Offshore Engineers to resolve any problems and ensure smooth operations.
  4. To provide operational plans and technical support to Workshop management to ensure equipment is prepared to meet job requirements and timings.
  5. To control costs of equipment preparation and mobilisation to maximise operation profitability.
  6. To ensure all operators are briefed prior to going offshore and de-briefed on job completion to ensure job requirements are met and performance monitored.
  7. To ensure all operational activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
  8. To appraise all sub-ordinate staff identifying training needs to maintain an effective well trained and motivated workforce.
  9. To participate as required in offshore operations to train and develop staff in project specific requirements ensuring successful operations and repeat work from client.

The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria:

  • Proven Organisational/logistical skills.
  • Man Management skills
  • An aptitude for Mechanical and Hydraulic Engineering
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work un-supervised
