Location: Aberdeen
Two Operations Support Engineer vacancies have arisen within the Welltest department in Aberdeen reporting to the UK Operations Manager - S&E. The purpose of the job is to assist the Operations Engineering department to oversee all UK SES engineering and to ensure that all offshore operations are given detailed technical and engineering support.
The principal accountabilities of the position are:
- Liaise with all departments (primarily Welltest) on technical matters relating to all Well test/process kit and operation of that kit.
- To oversee and check all Engineering calculations, drawings, technical specifications and functional specifications of all Well test process kit.
- To perform process calculations to evaluate Welltest systems and process systems.
- To assist in the design and delivery of bespoke technical solutions to our clients.
- To identify where new products and technologies can be introduced that will enhance our equipment and business in line with all regulatory and legislative standards.
- To go offshore when requested to carry out Rig surveys and any other necessary Engineering/Technical inspections or reviews on process kit or Rig systems.
- Ensure all Welltest and process equipment drawings are completed in a professional manner for submission to the duty holder and that they are produced and controlled in accordance with all regulatory and statutory national procedures and Expro procedures.
- Provide drawings as required for Bid/Proposal documents.
- Attend and contribute to HAZOP/HAZID/Risk Assessment meetings carried out by the Clients.
- Report any hazardous defects in plant, equipment and workplace, or shortcomings in the existing controls, to a responsible person without delay.
The successful candidate will also meet the following criteria:
- Mechanical or Process Engineering HNC/HND or Degree.
- Sound knowledge of Welltesting systems or Hydrocarbon processing systems/techniques.
- Sound knowledge of Mathematics and complex engineering calculations.
- Sound knowledge of Oil and Gas calculation methods and equations.
- Good knowledge of Equipment manufacture, modification and fabrication techniques.
- Good computer skills, AutoCAD, Excel, Word etc.
- Good communication skills.
