Location: Ulverston
A vacancy has arisen for a Design Engineer within the Existing Product Applications (EPA) Team at Tronic, based in Ulverston.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical solutions, production support and liaison with internal and external customers for the SpecTRON product range.
The principal accountabilities are:
- To produce CAD generated assembly and scope of supply drawings.
- To produce detail designs to comply with the company, project and/or client specification, and produce calculations and documentation to support the design solutions.
- To Check/approve drawings, documents and calculations generated by other members of the EPA Team.
- To define and compile procedures for production assembly, site installation, production FAT Testing and qualification testing and the associated technical data sheets and reports.
- To provide engineering support to production and qualification departments.
- To represent the Company in technical meetings at client or supplier facilities and exhibitions when requested.
- To review project requirements and identify standard product solutions and technical guidance to enable the preparation of bid proposals.
The essential skills required are:
- Minimum of HND qualification.
- Good basic engineering skills (Concept design, detail design, detail drawing, tolerance stack-up analysis, Design review, etc)
- Good knowledge of the basic principles of engineering with respect to mechanical systems (mechanical analysis, Forces, Moments, Stresses etc).
- Knowledge of CAD systems, (experience of AutoCad 2000 and Autodesk Inventor would be an advantage).
- Knowledge of FEA systems would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of product testing would be an advantage.
- Ability to prioritise work load, multi-task, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Self motivated, committed and flexible team player.
- Good communication both written and verbal and confident to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
