Location: Ulverston
A vacancy has arisen for a Project Manager to work within the Power and Optics Business Unit at Tronic, based in Ulverston.
The successful applicant will simultaneously manage a number of customer projects varying in complexity from the configuration of standard systems through to the development of new products.
This is a customer facing role requiring the management of contracts and some involvement in commercial bids. The role may require the applicant to undertake domestic and international travel from time to time.
The principal accountabilities are:
- To deliver Tronic connector systems to customers meeting time, quality and cost constraints.
- To co-ordinate internal resources and bought-in services to achieve the above.
- To take prompt and appropriate pre-emptive and corrective action to ensure progress towards project goals is maintained.
- To actively identify risks to each project’s success and initiate contingency plans to minimise their impacts.
- To apply sound project management systems and skills standards necessary to control and de-risk projects effectively.
- To manage the Tronic to customer interface for each project ( through management of meetings and actions, handling of day to day enquiries and progress reporting whilst meeting all customer specific documentation requirements).
- To ensure that Tronic’s contractual requirements are fulfilled.
The essential skills required are:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Sound engineering knowledge with minimum HNC qualification.
- Experience in project control, work co-ordination or planning.
- Experience in a customer facing role would be advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations and techniques.
- Self motivated and ability to work on own initiative.
- Computer literate with MS office (essential) and MS Project (desirable).
